2019 Engineering & Science Scholarships
Applications for the 2019 Engineering & Science Scholarships are now open.
United Kingdom Naval Engineering Science & Technology (UKNEST) is offering 12 Undergraduate Scholarships to students studying at UK universities & colleges. The Scholarship is open to students registered on any STEM subject degree. Most employers within this sector require UK security clearance for specific projects and positions.
The Scholarship is only available to students studying at UK universities and colleges.
We are particularly keen to receive applications from women and those studying science and technology. The Scholarship is for ONE year, but students may apply for further funding if progress is satisfactory
The Scholarship provides:
- A Scholarship grant of £1,500 per academic year (£500/term)
- Mentoring with a UKNEST orgainsation
- A graduate “buddy”
- The potential for work-placements.
Protecting our environment is a major focus for all branches of science and engineering.
To enter our scholarship competition, submit a short essay (500 word max.) to discuss:
“Battleship Green – can a world-class blue-water navy be green?”
You should examine issues including emissions, fuels and materials (such as paints and plastics). In addition to the navy, you should also consider the shipyards, maintenance facilities and system and equipment suppliers.
A written academic reference must be provided with your application.
